A recent survey commissioned by FirstLook shows that the release of the Manhunter 6 could affect the player ‘ s consumption habits and that nearly one third of the players expected to reduce overall spending on the game during the time of the game ‘ s release window.
Through a survey of 2,000 players in the United Kingdom and the United States, the study found that 29 per cent of the players expected to reduce their spending on the game in November and December 2026, the year-to-year large-scale sale under the R-star flag. At the same time, 94 per cent of players indicated plans to purchase GTA6.

The study also found that the general expectations of players for the sale of GTA 6 were about $78, lower than the usual hearsay of $100. Fifty-nine per cent of the respondents indicated that the prices in the rumours were too high, while 40 per cent considered that $100 was a reasonable price.
In an interview with PocketGamer, Chief Executive Officer FirstLook said that he expected the impact of mobile games to be concentrated on the type of audience with the core PC and host game.
He said: “The leisure game players will not waver, but I expect a small overall downturn on the moving end, as the market for the medium-heavy segment depends on the multiplatform core players, who may turn the attention of time and money to GTA6.”
According to Eden Chen, the release of the previous 3A game did not have a significant impact on the mobile game market. However, he thought that GTA6 might be a special case, as the industry as a whole had reacted to its publication window in an unusual manner.

“The collective escape of the mainframe and PC game developers from the November distribution window suggests that the industry expects the players to focus exclusively on GTA6, as reflected in our research data, which show that mobile player expenditures are expected to decrease during GTA6.”
Eden Chen stressed that leisure mobile games may not be affected, but other types may be under greater pressure.
“I do not think that leisure games such as Monopoly GO! and Royal Match will be affected, but medium-heavy tactics, role-playing and shooting-type games are vulnerable to a decline in player participation because the active user base of such games overlaps with the core host audience.”
